About image
Lindy Hop is a fun partner dance which originated in America in the 1920’s & 30’s.

It evolved in Harlem, New York in places such as the famous Savoy Ballroom
and was based on other dances of the day such as Charleston, jazz, tap and break-away.

Lindy Crew At The Seaside (Lindy CATS) run weekly classes at
the Women's Institute in Connor Downs and the Emmanuel Baptist Church Hall in Falmouth.

Classes are £5 per person for the evening. No need to come with a partner.
The format of the classes is as follows:

8:0 - 8:45 pm Level 1 - FUNdamentals

You will learn the FUNdamentals of Lindy Hop, Swing Dance, Charleston, including 8-count and 6-count rhythms; as well as a variety of Jazz steps you can do with or without a partner, together with some solo Jazz routines.

8:45pm - 9:10pm Practice Session

This session allows you to practice your social dancing skills with a partner and practice the moves you have learnt in the lesson.

9:10 - 9:45 pm Level 2 - Improvers

This class builds on moves learnt in the FUNdamentals class and introduces some new and fun things too;
showing you how to combine them with new steps to give you more confidence on the dance floor.
